Wayne,

Your name has popped up numerous times in my research. I'm glad to have found your blog. I think we have a couple things in common. I'm an ESL teacher working in Utah who speaks Cambodian.

Yes, you can't put the girl's name, so you can use "a pseudonym" to protect the human subject!

the poem is cute, and the girl is lucky to be loved by Jeffrey :)

Happy Holidays to all your families!

Dr. Wright,

That's awful! Poor Jeffrey! I have the feeling that school won't hear the end of this for some time. I can't believe they penalized him in his English class. GO GET 'EM, Dr. Wright!!! I hope you can work it out for Jeffrey and his grade.

The other ting I thought while reading it was, hmmm, sounds like the Catholic schools I attended from 4th-12th grade.

The other thing I wanted to remind you of is the REGAL CANS Film festival tonight, b/c your school email is full (So you probably don't have time, but I thought I'd spread the word anyway)!

Hello there, one and all!

Tonight’s the night to see any movie and get a free small popcorn, all day and night (well, till 11:00 pm or so), for a mere $3.00—or 3 cans of food donation—100% of which goes to the San Antonio Food Bank, a pet cause of mine (you may recall me recruiting y’all to volunteer for this last year, or telling you all about it with stars in my eyes the year before)! Anyway it’s very cool, and a painless way to do something that resonates in the community—and you totally get to save money doing it!! Any of the five Regal Theaters in town are participating.

This year, I just want to encourage y’all to go enjoy a movie and popcorn for $3.00 or 3 cans of food (great deal for you family types)!

This ends this public service announcement (haha). Please pass it on. Tell your friends! This is the best day of the year to see a movie! Woohoo!

Best and see you for COMPS!!

Joleen

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to the movies tonight.

Today is our annual Regal Cinemas Can Film Festival. At any Regal Cinema Theater donate $3 OR 3cans gets you into any movie, at any listing and you get a free POPCORN. There is no limit on how many times you go, or how many people attend. How awesome is that. All proceeds go to the Food Bank to help fight hunger here in Southwest Texas. There is an attached flyer that tells information about the day, and it is NOT needed at the door, just 3 cans or $3.

Thank you for you continued support and I’ll see you at the movies!

JC,

Great point! And don't be me started on the frustrating policies faculty at UTSA face.

You'll be happy to know that as I was standing in line to pay at the pay-as-go parking lot at UTSA, one of the students smiled at me and said "Welcome to our world!"

Maybe this experience also gives a good example of the mountain of information and seemingly frustrating policies that students at UTSA face. Not that the environment is that difficult to navigate but sometimes it can be positive to have such an experience. It gives a little more understanding of what is faced in an educational enviroment from K all the way up to 16.

It is so touched and I saw that for twice~
I also have the same question as your wife's. I think it is not easy to explain.
