ok so here are your answers
yes alex is still on his mission
we email every now and then
i just wrote spencer so ya we keep in touch
i think alex is doing fine
my foot is better but still hurts alittle some times
i didnt get transfered so im happy about that and i have the same
companion as last time E. Rowley
its still pretty cold to me here
with jesus the christ im doing really well. i take note on every
chapter and am learning a ton.
Elder Talmage did write it in the temple. it was an offical assignment
from the prophet to finish it. The book started as lectuares that he
gave at the university on temple square in about 1914 which he called
“Jesus The Christ” and the members of the 12 and the first presidencey
asked him to complie his remarks and his teachings in to a book. but the
life of an apostole is a bussy one, so he never had time to finish it.
then the prophet said, stop everything else that you are doing and
finish that book. he wrote it in one of the uper rooms in the temple which
is now called the james talmage room. well. there ya go. now you know
the history of the book. i felt it was very interesting or i wouldnet
have told you. well any way, two days go we had our baptisms they were
amazing. the spirit was so storng. it was a really good experiance. and
yesterday i got to give somebody the holy ghost for the first time. it
was awesome. well mom i love you very much thanks for the money, opened
another account with wells fargo. basically just to save money. like my
tax return is coming in soon. and people have been sending me money. so
i try and save it. well any who. you wanted to know who im writing. i
write steph, this girl named shelby, this sister missionary named sister
neff. a girl named molly bytheway. (john bytheways niece) i havnt
writen krista, and i dont plan on it. um and then a few elders from
nicaragua

At Mom’s request, I am posting a few of Jon’s most recent letters. In the spirit of “the real thing,” they are unretouched, so we can all experience the Jonisms we all know and love.

ok so before i forget you asked about the chruch. well its a branch.
very small. we have about 15 active memebers. my comp and i always pass
or bless the sacrament and every other week we speak. so that keeps us
bussy. we have no ward mission. its just us. we do have a council
meeting every week before church. i have been sick alot latley i think i am
allergic to green chile which is bad cause thats all they feed you here.
so far i have thrown up like 11 times and i have been really sick the
last 3 days. but im doing better now. um. so things are going good here.
we just set 3 more baptizmal dates. but im not sure if i will be here
for all of them. i have a feeling i will be transfered soon. i dont know
why. oh well. um…. so i got a package from spencer it was awesome. it
seems like as far as mail goes i have been alot more loved lately. i
like it. well thats ok about the psp it will most likly be alot cheaper
in 17 months. YAY today i hit 7 months. dont worry i dont count the
days. i just know that every 27th is my month mark. so. ya. dont worry im
not trunky at all. im really really loving my mission. well any who. so
i have spent 40$ just on medicen the last couple of days. being sick is
exspencive. i should just be healthy all the time. i dont know if you
guys wanted to re-emburse my sick funds. also dad offered to put some
money in there for church music cause i have none. other than my ipod.
but thats just like 4 cds and i have heard it all many many times. but it
still puts me to sleep every night. ok so. sorry to always ask for
money. but uh… ya. LOVE YOU :)
k thats my report for this week.

alrighty sorry that i wasnt able to write last time. but i wanted to
say thank you for the money. thats so awesome and nice of you. gee wizz
you guys are way to cool. so i cant avoid green chile. its every were.
im in the green chile capitol of the world and it still makes me sick
every time i eat it. but thats ok. my mission presidents wife is trying
to find something that will help my stomach calm down. um… so
tommorrow im going to a baptist church to answer some questions. basicaly waht
happend was that our #1 investagador is being atacked by them and there
giving him all this anti mormon stuff, so since he didnt have all the
answers he asked if we could come back him up. they invited us to come
on wednsday. so im going to fast and i have been studying like crazy.
but i think i will be alright. im not going to bash. im just going
because alot of kids there had questions. and i wanted to help tyler realize
what they are saying isnt true. and prove it to him out of the bible
AND the book of mormon. well any way. he is still pumped for baptizm
regardless of what they say. so this week i have my first baptizm and the
week after i have two more. and after that we should have 3 more on the
25th. so thats not bad. im pretty excited. my love for the scriptures
is growing alot. im doing my best to not get sick but i cant really help
it. well i love you guys a ton. thank you so much for everything. your
the greatest.

k so today i have a baptizm next week i have 2 more, the week after
that we should have 3 more and the week after that we will have another
one and maybe even 2. so thats a posible 8, with at least 4 for sure. not
bad for just a months time. im realy excited, i think i might be
getting transfered. so im not sure if i will get to see the last few. but i
hope i can. so this week we are going to the temple. im way stoked for
that. its gonna be awesome. well we eat at members houses almost every
day. im trying to let them know that green chile is bad for me but they
are just like “oh youll like this kind of green chile, its different”
NO ITS NOT, BUTT HEAD. oh well. im still living so thats good. the other
day i had to pay 85 bucks cause i got something stuck in my eye. and i
couldnt get it out. so i went to an optomitrist. any way. i think the
mission will reemburse it. so thats good. um. so i get to email you
today because we had to make up programs for our baptism and the only way
to do it was use the computer. im not sure that many people will show up
to the baptism, im hoping so, but i duno. well i love you soo much
thank you for everything you guys have done for me. i look forward to your
next email, oh ya and i got your cards from china, thank you sooo much.
i love them. oh ya. if i get transfered my address will change. so dont
send anything else in the mail for a while. cause i might have moved. i
think you still have my mission address. that always works so if you
send anything to that ill get it no matter were i am. well thanks again i
love you

ok so my baptism was alittle funny. we filled the font and began the
program, when it was time to baptize we came to find that just about all
the water had drained out. so we paniced alittle bit. turned on the
water again and sang a few hymns. it was kinda funny. i then baptized
little anna paola alcala sanchez, in about 2 feet of water. haha. it was
god though she loved it and the spirit was very strong. ok so you were
asking about the excorsism house. basicaly. Aside from ours i have never
felt so close to a family before. i consider tyler (14 Years Old) my
little brother. he is soooo cool. and he has told me the same. that im
like his big brother and he loves me. thats not something a 14 year old
kid useualy says. so he is way awesome. we get along perfectly. and then
there is amanda (age 9) she is about the cutest little girl i have ever
met. she is adorable. and she knows the gospel is true and wont let
anybody tell her otherwise. same with tyler. they are some of the
strongest kids i have ever seen. they will both be baptized this week. the mom,
leean, has kinda filled in as my “MISSION MOM” she is amazing. she
needs to quit drinking coffie and smoking before she can be baptized, but i
belive that once she sees her kids get baptised, she will feel the
spirit very strong and have a desire to change. the kids read and pray
every day for there mom to get baptized. it spirit is totally different in
the home since we first came over. i really have fallen in love with
this family, i want to come back after my mission to hang out with tyler
and amanda. well so thats them. today we went to the book store after
we went to the temple and i bought them there own quads with there names
and everything. they are very excited. i also bought a couple of cds,
and jesus the christ,(a really nice little version). i began jesus the
christ, and i can feel my self coming closer to him. i love being a
missionary, so much amazing stuff is happening. well you also wanted to
know about me puking. basicaly, i throw up then i smile. and i get back to
work. its not plesant, but its beter than throwing up and not working.
pertty much the onlything that helps me feel better is working. so my
eye. its super windy here. so i was outside and some like sliver of hay
flew into my eye. it hurt like crazy. but the doctor got it out. so
thats what happend there. um. they baptists told us that they didnt want
us to come over but i talked to them on the phone and few times.
basicaly they either agreed with everything i said, and when i asked a
question they said “god dose not want us to know all his mystories” or in
other words. they didnt know. so pretty much i shut them down. but i was
very polite about it. they threw in a few personal atacks but i told them
that that wasnt christlike and asked them to apologize and then they
felt really stuiped. basicly they invited us thinking we wouldent come.
then when we said we wanted to, they were like “ummm wel you wouldnt let
us come to your church” and i said ” well actualy every church building
in the entire world says visitors welcom in big letters, so yes we
would be more than happy for you to come” she had nothing to say. well.
thats what happend. i shut her down. but i didnt win. cause her heart
wasnt changed. (but it still felt pretty good) any way. i do not want to be
transfered at all. i love this area. its so nice. and we are doing
soooo good. i really wana see everybody progress to be baptized. well this
is a pretty lengthy email. so i better quit now. well i love you all oh
so much. your the best parents in the world.

Marie took some lovely pictures of our trip to San Simeon, San Louis Obispo and Santa Maria.

Me and my camera phone also took a crack at documenting the journey.

Hers are better, but I got here first.

More later, from the talented one.

New Family News blog – test

Dad would like us to focus the current blog on their Xi’an travels.  They’ve got a big audience for their photos and journal updates from China…but they’re less interested in other family doings.

So, this page will be focused on family news: letters from Jon, new photo albums, links to Amazon.com wishlists for birthdays and such, chatting back and forth, whatever.

Questions, let me know.

Hello world!
